Magnetic bases are magnetic fixtures commonly used in metalworking to hold dial indicators and in fields such as optics. The Magnetic Base With Fine Adjustment can make it easier to set up workpieces in a milling machine or surface grinder. The vertical post and rod in the magnetic base connect using swiveling connectors or snugs. This frees the arm so the dial indicator can be moved into position on the workpiece. When the magnetic base is on, the iron acts g as an extension of the magnet. When it is off, the magnet acts as a keeper, preventing the magnetic field from extending through the base.

The Fine adjusting & Mechanical Arm Universal Magnetic Gauge Holder Magnetic Base Stand  has two parts to achieve it’s function.
One is the magnetic base. A permanent magent is installed inside the steel cover to get the magnetic holding force to ferrous base material surface. The switch can control the working on&off status of holding force.
Another is the mechanical arm to clamp the dialgauge & indicator. The mechanical can be adjusted in universal direction in 360degree with one swivel button to tight all the knob of the arm. A fine adjusting screw can fine adjust the dialgauge/indicator location after all the knob tighted to get the better working status.
