Injection molded bonded magnets are available using ferrite, neodymium-iron-boron, or blends of magnetic materials to achieve an extensive range of properties. Binder types include Nylon 6 and 12, PPS, and Polyamide. The binders and magnetic alloys are capable of a wide range of application temperatures from below -40°C to above 180°C. The Injection molding process is particularly well suited to molding very intricate shapes and thin walled parts. The finished parts can be either very simple or complex in geometry.

Magnetic materials can be insert injection molded directly inside or against an existing component to produce assembly pieces. Injection molded magnets dimensionally conform to mold cavities, which are precisely machined, resulting in finished products which usually do not require further finishing operations. This eliminates subsequent operations and reduces total cost.

Injection Molded Bonded Magnets can be either anisotropic or isotropic, and wide range of magnetic properties, and it achieves multi-pole magnetization. This magnet is widely applied on motors, etc.

It is a new technology to achieve adjustable magnetic properties, composite molding, elastic magnetization and high mechanical strength.

Injection molded magnets can be of very complex shapes with high precision, typically, tolerance is+/-0.005mm, it is suitable for high precision parts.

By doing insert molding, magnetic material can be directly molded into or onto other assembly components without further assembly process.

Anisotropic NdFeB powder achieves the highest magnetic force as injection molded magnet. And it is possible to achieve BHmax 17GMOe, and can replace some of sintered products.

Designed for the Application
The great majority of parts are designed with the user and our sophisticated modeling techniques ensure the optimization of the total system. Usually dedicated tooling is subsequently produced, however, we keep a number of blanks which can be used for machining prototypes.

Injection bonded neodymium iron boron (NdFeB) offers:

Features of injection molded boned magnets
• HSMAG’s injection molded magnets have a high level of magnetic properties among Nd based isotropic injection molded magnets.
• Since these are isotropic in nature, any magnetization patterns can be used. This is especially advantageous to multi-pole magnetization.
• Injection molding provides better dimensional accuracy and excellent serial productivity.
• Thin wall thickness (minimum 0.3 mm) and complicated shapes can be produced.
• Overmolding and insert molding with other parts, such as back yoke, hub, shaft is readily available, as well as injecting other polymer parts can be incorporated.
• A high volume fraction of polyer binders provide adequate protection against corrosion without additional coating in most applications.
