Charging piles can be divided into contact charging devices and non-contact charging devices. Contact charging piles include DC charging piles and AC charging piles. Except for AC charging piles that do not need magnetic components, others involve the conversion of electric energy forms. The pile can be regarded as a large transformer, and the magnetic material is one of the main materials of the transformer inductor. According to statistics, magnetic materials account for more than 15% of the cost of core components such as transformers, accounting for about 2.25%-3% of the cost of charging piles. Assuming that it costs 20,000 yuan to build a charging pile and 500-600 yuan in magnetic materials, it is expected to bring about 8.2-9.8 billion yuan in market space for magnetic materials in 2022-2025. The exponential growth of charging piles will bring great room for growth in transformer inductance and magnetic materials used.
The power supply of the AC charging pile is AC, and the output is also AC. It cannot directly charge the power battery. Therefore, it needs to be connected to the on-board charger for AC-DC conversion to charge. The DC charging pile is matched with the non-DC on-board charger. The off-board charger is connected to the AC power grid to convert the AC power into a controllable DC power supply to charge the vehicle power battery. The off-board charger is generally installed inside the DC charging pile. Taking the DC charging pile as an example, the charging pile rectifies the alternating current into direct current through EMI, and adjusts the voltage and current output through the DC-DC conversion link, so as to transmit power to the power battery. Magnetic components are used in input and output EMI filtering, PFC, DC-DC conversion, auxiliary power supply and other parts.
The power of transformers used in charging piles ranges from several hundred to several thousand watts, and has strict requirements on power, leakage inductance, input and output voltage, etc. Among them, the main soft magnetic materials used are usually soft magnetic materials such as ferrite and metal soft magnetic powder cores. magnetic material. Because the power loss of traditional ferrite increases with temperature, it can only achieve low power consumption in a narrow temperature range, while charging piles are mostly in outdoor open-air environments, and the ambient temperature range is wide, so the alloy soft magnetic powder core or Low-power ferrite has a slight advantage in charging pile applications.
(2) The proportion of DC charging piles is expected to increase, and the demand for soft magnets will reach 47.24%
According to the investor relations activities of Hengdian East Magnetics, the amount of soft magnets used in charging piles is about 0.5-2kg depending on the power, and at least more than 20 magnetic components are used. At present, the ratio of DC and AC charging piles is about 4:6, but as the society The demand for fast charging continues to increase, and it is expected that the proportion of DC charging piles will further increase.
